Nutrition and Diet Tips |
|
Drink water. |
|
Drink 6 – 8 glasses of
water a day (1 glass is approx 250ml). It will stop you
becoming dehydrated, which can often be confused for
hunger. So you will not only feel more energized, but
will also eat less. |
|
|
Excluding exercise.
People generally believe nutrition is all about food. It
is however how your body uses food, and this is where
exercise plays a vital role. Without regular exercise
you cannot maintain a high enough metabolic rate to burn
your food efficiently. |
|
|
Do not skip meals.
Keep meals at regular intervals. You are then less
likely to have a sudden urge to snack, as blood sugar
levels become low. This then usually results in craving
for food high in fat and sugar. |

Go
easy on tea and coffee.
Drinking tea and coffee in moderation is fairly harmless. However,
both contain caffeine which can cause dehydration, and if taken with
cream and sugar can become fattening. By opting for skimmed milk and
no sugar you can drastically reduce your calorie intake. |
| |
Eat
at least 5 portions of fruit and veg a day.
5 portions should be the minimum amount a day. Not only are they
full of vitamins and minerals, they are also low in calories. So not
only can you eat plenty, but they also increase energy and health
without causing you to put on excess weight. |
| |
Eat
Breakfast.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Ideally eat within
an hour of waking. Not only will breakfast give you energy to set
you up for the day, it stops you from snacking on bad food later on
in the day. |
